Parent/carer support sessions
When a child or young person is going through therapy, having the parents or carers involved in the process can often lead to the best outcomes for the child or young person. I offer dedicated therapeutic parent and carer support sessions alongside your child or young person’s therapy. These sessions provide a space to talk about how things are going at home, reflect on any changes or challenges, and explore what might be underlying certain behaviours. Together we can work through strategies and suggestions to help you better support your child.
These sessions also give you the opportunity to explore your own challenges, provide a safe space to talk about family dynamics and discuss strategies to navigate them. The goal is to help you feel empowered and supported as you manage these changes.
Each session is tailored to your unique situation and personalised guidance is offered to meet your family’s needs. These sessions can be held virtually or in person, and we can discuss how often they will take place based on what works best for you.
These sessions are not obligatory when your child or young person is in therapy. Your young persons therapy sessions will remain confidential, but we can discuss themes that have arisen.
